Lip Statement

Hi everyone!
We're finally in Spring!! yaaaay! So that means we'll have a radical makeover to our outfits and make up...now we can de bolder, play more with color and express our mood using vibrant colors :)

I recently purchased some lipliners and lipsticks for this season and I wanted to show you how you can mix them up. I made only a few combinations, but they're endless...you just have to lose all fear and start playing with your make up!

This are the products I bought. They were extremely cheap! The lipsticks and lipliners cost S/.2.00 (about $1.40) each!

Here are some pictures of the combinations I made and the celebs who inspired me for those looks:

Aqui estan algunas fotos de las combinaciones que hice y en que celebridades me inspire para esos looks:

CH Runway Look
If you're into romance and dress really girlie you should go for light pink shades. Here I used a nude lipliner so the lips look verly natural.

Minka Kelly & Kim Kardashian
This look works the best for girls with a darker complexion because it looks natural but draws all the attention to your lips in a sutil way. To get it I used a brown lipliner (to make the lips pop) and a golden lipstick.

Kourtney Kardashian & Karlie Kloss
The red lip look  makes any woman feel instantly sexy. Just be careful to choose the right shade of red that suits your skin tone. For this look, try to use a lipliner a shade darker than your lipstick so your lips will look a bit fuller.

Rihanna & Julia Restoin Roitfeld
Hot pink lips are mi spring obsession! I know they're a bit 80s but they're also edgy and that's why I loved them. If you want to achieve a matte look just use the lipliner to fill your lips.Otherwise, feel free to combine it with a really hot pink lipstick.

Miranda Kerr & Sofia Vergara
There's no doubt that the hottest lip color for this season is coral. It is the best color for women with olive skin tones. To get the look  I used a red lipliner and a bright coral/orange lipstick. I love it!!

Me encanta!

What do you think of these make up trend? Are you willing to give it a try? I want to know you opinions :)

Que piensan de esta tendencia de maquillaje? Estan dispuestas a probarla? Quiero saber sus opiniones :)

TNF at Mistura 2011

Today I have a different post for all of you...it's not about fashion, but about gastronomy!

On Tuesday, I had the chance to attend the fourth edition of Mistura which is Latin America's largest gastronomic fair, organized by APEGA, and held here in Lima.
This year's brochure

The Market where you can buy food from all over the country

Peruvians are known for their love for food (good food) and in recent years our gastronomy has gained a lot of recognition throughout the world.

This fair congregates renowned chefs from all over the world who come and give seminars and master classes so as you may think there are a lot of cooking students who attend it.

At Mistura, you can have food from restaurants from all over Peru and not only traditional recipes but also japanese, chinese and fusion gastronomy. Besides food, you can have drinks and desserts and all at really cheap prices (from 2 to 5 dollars per serving)!!

One of many delicious stands :)

Sophie Bistro's specialty

Sushi from Edo Sushi Bar...yum!
I went with two of my best friends from work and we ate like there was no tomorrow, lol!
We had a great time and can't wait for next year to repeat this experience :)

Livin on the Wedge

Hi guys!

It's been a while since I did my last polyvore styling post so I decided to do one for you today. :)

I've seen a lot of wedge shoes lately - not only here in Peru but overseas as well - and I wanted to show you how you can wear wedges to work with a really elegant look and if you're a fashion risktaker you can wear the craziest, tallest, edgiest wedges for going out with your friends and not make a fool of yourself, LOL!
               Livin' on the Wedge
For the Office look I chose a tie blouse which is a really strong trend right now, a gorgeous brocade skirt in earthy tones and wedge pumps in brown. To give it a little bit of color I chose a long orange wool coat and to finish the whole outfit a leather satchel in brown.

For the Going Out look I chose bold colors and patterns as you can see in the skirt. To tone it down a little bit I paired it with a simple cotton top. To make it more edgy I added a leather jacket, a small cross body bag and a pair of super high fuchsia suede wedges (I just loooove them!).

What do you guys think of these looks? I'd love to hear your opinions!!! And I would also love to know what styling requests you might have.

XOXO

Bonding Trip!

Hi everyone!

I just came back from a trip to Mancora, located in Piura at the north shore of Peru. I decided to invite my mom so we could have some bonding time which we haven't had in a really long time!

The weather was AWESOME...sunny and hot, just like summer!!! It was perfect because we're in the middle of winter in Lima and I really needed a little bit of sunshine :)

We went to the beach, spent time at the pool, had some drinks and also did some shopping at the local market. I found many great accessories: 2 Panama style hats and a really cute beaded ring (you can see them in some of my photos) and also a gorgeous beaded necklace, ring and a pair of river pearl earrings I will show you soon.

Here are some pics of the outfits I wore.

What do you guys think? I love to read your comments!

XOXO
