LIF WEEK 2012 - Day 5: Noe Bernacelli

Unfortunately I couldn't get any tickets for the fashion shows of day 3 and 4 (but soon I'll write a post about the designers and shows I didn't go to). On day 5, I attended Noe Bernacelli's fashion show and it was breathtaking!!!
He used a lot of transparencies, lace and embroidered fabrics to create really luxurious dresses with an ethereal feel to them. It was, for me, the best fashion show of the ones I saw live.

LIF WEEK 2012 - Day 1: Adolfo Dominguez

Finally, Lima Fashion Week (a.k.a LIF Week) has begun!

Yesterday, I attended the Adolfo Dominguez fashion show and it was amazing.
He showcased his collection for both men and women.

In menswear he used a lot of navy blue, grays and beige. I really loved the t-shit + blazer combination and also the vests (I love how they can make a guy look "gentleman-y" without looking older).

The colors used in the womens collection were pastels (shocking!) in solid, floral and tribal prints. There were oversized jackets mixed with fitted dresses or blouses and skinny printed pants. He also presented gorgeous flowy maxi dresses in pastels...very ethereal looking (to die for!).

I wore a LBD with a silk satin skirt on top that I made (I'll write a DIY post for it at the end of the week) and a pair of golden high heel salndals.

P.S: I just want to apologyze for the awful quality of the photos...I had to borrow my mom's camera - mine was stolen :( - and it sucks!! I'l try to buy a good one this week...

TNF at Mistura 2011

Today I have a different post for all of you...it's not about fashion, but about gastronomy!

On Tuesday, I had the chance to attend the fourth edition of Mistura which is Latin America's largest gastronomic fair, organized by APEGA, and held here in Lima.

The Market where you can buy food from all over the country

Peruvians are known for their love for food (good food) and in recent years our gastronomy has gained a lot of recognition throughout the world.


This fair congregates renowned chefs from all over the world who come and give seminars and master classes so as you may think there are a lot of cooking students who attend it.

At Mistura, you can have food from restaurants from all over Peru and not only traditional recipes but also japanese, chinese and fusion gastronomy. Besides food, you can have drinks and desserts and all at really cheap prices (from 2 to 5 dollars per serving)!!

I went with two of my best friends from work and we ate like there was no tomorrow, lol!
We had a great time and can't wait for next year to repeat this experience :)

Hi everyone!

Today is a very special day for me...we reached 10,000 visits and I'm extremely happy and thankful for that!

To celebrate, I decided to give this blog a little makeover (in case you haven't noticed I changed the header, links and added more topics). There are more changes to come this week which I hope you'll enjoy.

Bonding Trip!

Hi everyone!

I just came back from a trip to Mancora, located in Piura at the north shore of Peru. I decided to invite my mom so we could have some bonding time which we haven't had in a really long time!


The weather was AWESOME...sunny and hot, just like summer!!! It was perfect because we're in the middle of winter in Lima and I really needed a little bit of sunshine :)

We went to the beach, spent time at the pool, had some drinks and also did some shopping at the local market. I found many great accessories: 2 Panama style hats and a really cute beaded ring (you can see them in some of my photos) and also a gorgeous beaded necklace, ring and a pair of river pearl earrings I will show you soon.
